ABOUT

Akhshay have been working in Theatre as Actor & Director over past 14 years. He has performed at prestigious venues including, Stanford University, Gessnerallee (Zurich), Off-off-broadway, Spoken Fest, International Hockey World Cup to name a few.


Trained with internationally acclaimed artists and companies: SITI COMPANY (NYC), ELLEN LAUREN (SITI & SCOT), Anne Bogart, Eugenio Barba & ODIN TEARET (DENMARK), Veenpani Chawla & Adishakti (INDIA), Amy Russell (LONDON).


His acting has ranged from realistic plays to physical theatre to traditional forms to text-centric as well as expressive movement work.


Started his camera journey recently with Sony Channel’s promo for Prithviraj Chauhan & Jio Hotstar’s art of making.

A collaboration with Media & Projection Artist, Gaurav Singh Nijjer (Delhi).

The performance is a hard hitting portrait of modern life and the absurdity of being alive.

Its an immersive experience of our relationship with self.

A collaboration with Mohiniyattam Dancer. Divya Wariar (Mumbai).

The performance blends Storytelling, Paintings, Dance & Music to take the audience on a journey of Manthans (Churnings).

The performance is a revival of a storytelling traition from Rajasthan. A story with in a story with in a story structure taking the audience through an interconnected web of stories across time & space.

A reimagination of hansel & gretel story. ​Gretel explodes with physical theatre, mime, absurdity​ and live music.

Clearing the Rubble

A radio play by Mahesh Dattani imagined for stage. The play is about 3 characters after Gujarat’s earthquake rescue operation

  1. Akhshay’s most recent training has been 1 year mentorship with Ellen Lauren (SCOT & SITI) and Barney O’ Hanley (SITI). It focused on finer details of Suzuki Method & Viewpoints training.
  2. Trained with Anne Bogart & SITI Company over a year as part of their Conservatory program. Focusing on Suzuki Method & Viewpoints along with advanced work in Voice, Text & Movement.
  3. Performance Dramaturgy intensive training with Eugenio Barba & Odin Teatret, Denmark.
  4. Multiple trainings at Adishakti Laboratory with Veenapani Chawlaji and team.
